Sergeant Major A. E. Ramirez

In October of 2003, PFC Ramirez received orders to Marine Corps Security Forces located in Bangor, Washington upon Graduation Basic Security Guard School obtaining an additional MOS of 8152.  During his time at MCSFCO Bangor PFC Ramirez held the billets sentry to Corporal of the Guard. While in MCSFCO Bangor PFC Ramirez was sent to E.M.T. School where we got his E.M.T. national registry. During his tour at Bangor in May 2004 PFC Ramirez was promoted to the rank of Lance Corporal.

In October 2005 Lance Corporal Ramirez Received orders to 1st Bn. 4th Marines in Camp Pendleton, CA. Lance Corporal Ramirez checked in and was attached to Charlie Co. (Helo Co.) In December 2005 Lance Corporal Ramirez Deployed with 1st Bn. 4th Marines, on a West Pac with the 11the Marine Expeditionary Unit. During the Deployment Lance Corporal Ramirez was promoted to the rank of Corporal Meritoriously. Corporal Ramirez held the billets of Team Leader and Squad Leader.  During his tour In 1st Bn. 4th Marines Corporal Ramirez attended Corporals Course, Urban Assault Leaders Course, and Squad Leaders Course. In April 2007 Corporal Ramirez Deployed with 1st Bn. 4th Marines in Support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM (OIF) from April 2007 to November 2007. In May of 2007 he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. He returned to CONUS and received orders to MCRD San Diego, CA.

In April 2008, Sergeant Ramirez reported to Drill Instructor School, MCRD San Diego. Upon graduation, he was assigned to Lima Company, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion where he served as a Drill Instructor/Senior Drill Instructor as well as a Chief Drill Instructor in Support Battalion. During this tour he was meritoriously promoted to Staff Sergeant. Upon completion of his tour, he attended Infantry Unit Leaders Course where he earned the MOS of 0369. In 2011 Staff Sergeant Ramirez received orders to 2nd Battalion, 5th Marines.

In September 2011 Staff Sergeant Ramirez deployed with Weapons Company in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM. In 2014 Staff Sergeant Ramirez attended SNCOA Career School and graduated as the honor graduate. Upon his return to 2d Battalion, 5th Marines, Staff Sergeant Ramirez was moved to Echo Company where he was a Platoon Sergeant and deployed on two 31st MEU's. In April 2016 Staff Sergeant Ramirez received orders to 3D Marine Division in Okinawa, Japan. and was selected to go to Jungle Warfare Training Center.
 
In April 2016 Staff Sergeant Ramirez reported into Jungle Warfare Training Center and assumed the duties of the Course Chief. Staff Sergeant Ramirez attended Tactical Rope Suspension Technician Course. Staff Sergeant Ramirez aided in facilitating a new curriculum that was implemented to train Marines throughout the Division. In August of 2017 he was promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant. In October of 2017 Gunnery Sergeant Ramirez attended SNCOA Advanced School where he was chosen as the Gung Ho recipient for the graduating class. In December of 2018 Gunnery Sergeant Ramirez was selected to receive orders to the SNCO Academy in Okinawa.

In January 2018 Gunnery Sergeant Ramirez was transferred to the SNCO Academy, where he served as a Faculty Advisor/Instructor for the Advance Course as well as Chief Instructor for the Advanced Course. During his assignment, he earned his Master Instructor Certification and was selected as the 2018 Instructor of the Year for the Okinawa Staff Noncommissioned Officer Academy.

In 2020 Gunnery Sergeant Ramirez was selected to the rank of First Sergeant and received orders to orders to Combat Logistics Battalion 451 in Ayer, Massachusetts to assume the roles and duties of the Inspector & Instructor First Sergeant. During his time he attended the 1st Sgt and Legal Course as well as the E8 Seminar in Quantico, Virginia. In 2022 First Sergeant Ramirez received orders to 2d Battalion, 1st Marines.

In January of 2023 First Sergeant Ramirez reported to 2d Battalion, 1st Marines and assumed the duties of the Weapons Company First Sergeant. In April of 2023 First Sergeant Ramirez deployed in support of the 31st MEU Okinawa, Japan. During the deployment he participated in Talisman Sabre as well as USS America Humanitarian aid for Papa New Guinea.  

In November of 2023 First Sergeant Ramirez was selected to the rank of Sergeant Major and received orders to assume the duties as the Squadron Sergeant Major for MWCS-38 MACG-38 3RD MAW MCAS Miramar, California where he is currently serving.
  

Sergeant Major Ramirez' personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with 1 Silver star, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with 1 gold star, Combat Action Ribbon, and the Good Conduct Medal with 1 Silver Star.
