Sergeant Major Mohammad Arzola

Sergeant Major Arzola enlisted in the Marine Corps and reported to Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, CA in April 1997 for training.  After graduating recruit training, he reported to the School of Infantry, Camp Pendleton, CA where he obtained the MOS of 0331 Machine Gunner. Upon completion of the School of Infantry, Sergeant Major Arzola received orders to Marine Security Forces School in Chesapeake Bay, Virginia, where he earned the Military Occupational Specialty of 8152, Basic Security Guard.
 
In January 1998, Sergeant Major Arzola received orders to Marine Corps Security Force, Company Keflavik, Iceland, and was promoted to Lance Corporal. During this time, Sergeant Major Arzola deployed to Norway in support of Operation ARCTIC WARRIOR.

In February 1999, Sergeant Major Arzola reported to 3d Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment at Camp Pendleton, California. In February 2000, Sergeant Major Arzola was promoted to Corporal, before being deployed to Idaho, in support of U.S. Wild Land Fires Idaho/Montana.

In April 2001, Sergeant Major Arzola was Honorably Discharged from active duty.

Sergeant Major Arzola joined the Selective Marine Corps Reserve in January 2002 and was assigned to 4th Recon Battalion, San Antonio, Texas. In April 2002, Sergeant Major Arzola was promoted to the rank of Sergeant.

In March 2004, Sergeant Major Arzola reenlisted in the active duty Marine Corps and was assigned to Weapons Company, 3d Battalion, 3d Marines. He deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation ENDURRING FREEDOM in November 2004. In March 2006, Sergeant Major Arzola deployed to Iraq in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM.

 Sergeant Major Arzola reported to Drill Instructor School in April 2007, MCRD, San Diego, California. Upon completion of Drill Instructor School, Sergeant Major reported to Company D, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, Recruit Training Regiment. He was promoted to Staff Sergeant in November 2007 and completed four training cycles as a Drill Instructor. Sergeant Major Arzola was then selected to become a Senior Drill Instructor and completed three cycles before being selected as the Chief Instructor, Academic Instruction Platoon, in July 2009.

Sergeant Major Arzola reported to 3d Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion in July 2010, MCAGCC, Twentynine Palms, California. He was assigned to Company A and deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation ENDURRING FREEDOM in November 2010.

In November 2011, Sergeant Major Arzola reported to Weapons Company, 3d Battalion 4th Marines.

He then received orders and reported to Drill Instructor School, Priors Course in July 2012, MCRD, San Diego, California. Upon graduating, Sergeant Major Arzola was assigned to Company C, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, Recruit Training Regiment where he is was assigned as a Chief Drill Instructor.

Sergeant Major Arzola was transferred Instructor Staff, Drill Instructor School, Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, California in January 2013.He was promoted to First Sergeant and received orders and reported to 1st Marine Raider Battalion, Company D, in April 2015.

Sergeant Major Arzola reported to MWCS-38, Detachment A, in July 2017. He then received orders to MWHS-3, in February 2019, assuming the role as the Squadron Sergeant Major.

Sergeant Major then received orders to VMFA (A/W) -225, in May 2019 assuming the role as Squadron Sergeant Major.

Sergeant Major then received orders to VMM 362, in April 2020 and is currently assuming the role as Squadron Sergeant Major.

Sergeant Major Arzola’s personal awards include the Purple Heart, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with (2) gold star in lieu of third award, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with (1) gold star in lieu of second award, Combat Action Ribbon with (1) gold star in lieu of second award.
