Lieutenant Colonel Bridget N. Young

Lieutenant Colonel Young graduated from the University of Rochester, NY and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in 2003.  Upon completion of The Basic School, she attended the Aircraft Maintenance Officer course at NAS Whiting Field, Florida. 
In March 2004, Lieutenant Colonel Young checked into MALS-36, 1st MAW, Okinawa, Japan, and served as the Airframes Division and Aviation Life Support System (ALSS) Division officer.  In May 2005, she transferred to HMM-262 where she initially served as the Maintenance and Material Control Officer and then the Assistant Aircraft Maintenance Officer (AAMO).  While with the Aviation Combat Element for the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, she deployed to multiple theater level exercises in Thailand, the Philippines, Republic of Korea, Guam, and Japan.  In January 2007, she reported back to MALS-36 and served as the Individual Material Readiness List and Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Division officer. 
Lieutenant Colonel Young's next assignment was at Marine Corps Forces, Pacific from 2007-2010 where she served as the AAMO for Aviation Logistics Division, monitoring USINDOPACOM’s USMC aviation logistic actions and issues.  Additionally, she was selected to perform the duties as the MARFORPAC protocol officer for one year. 
From 2010-2013, Lieutenant Colonel Young was with MALS-11, 3d MAW, Miramar, CA where she also deployed as an augment to MALS-16 (Forward) in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM as the GSE Division and ALSS Division officer.  Upon her return to MALS-11, she served her remaining tour as the AAMO.
In 2013, Lieutenant Colonel Young reported to Command and Staff at the Naval War College and was selected to attend Maritime Advanced Warfighting School.  Upon graduating in 2014, Lieutenant Colonel Young assumed the responsibilities of the Korean theater planner at III MEF, Okinawa, Japan, G-5 Plans Division.  She worked closely with our ROK Allies and US 7th Fleet staff to develop a bilateral OPLAN, and helped plan multiple theater level exercises.
In June 2017, Lieutenant Colonel Young reported to MALS-14 to serve as the Executive Officer.  The following June, she was assigned to 2d MAW ALD and deployed with the SPMAGTF-CR-CC 19.1 command element as the ALD representative.  During the deployment, she was selected to serve as the S-4 officer.  Upon return, she completed a PCA to Fleet Readiness Center – East to serve as both the NAE Coordinator and Military Director of Engines and Dynamic Components.  
From August 2020 to June 2021, Lieutenant Colonel Young was assigned to the I MEF Command Element and served as a G-35 Future Operations Planner and supported I MEF COVID-19 efforts and I MEF exercise development and execution.
Lieutenant Colonel Young is a graduate of Central Michigan University (2009), Master of Science in Administration, and the Naval War College (2014), Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies.
