Weapons, flags, boots, and military identification tags form the memorial display for Hospital Corpsman 2nd Class Jamie S. Jaenke and Equipment Operator 1st Class Gary T. Rovinski June 10. Hundreds of soldiers, Marines and Sailors gathered in Al Asad, Iraq, to pay tribute at the memorial service to the Seabees who were killed in a roadside explosion while conducting convoy security operations June 5. Jaenke is a Bay City, Wis., native, while Rovinski is from Roseville, Ill. Both are with Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 25, 9th Naval Construction Regiment, 1st Naval Construction Division.
