A Marine from Marine Aircraft Group 39, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, I Marine Expeditionary Force pays respect to 1st Lt. Thomas J. Claiborne, an AH-1W "Super Cobra" pilot killed while conducting a training flight, after a memorial service held at the Marine Memorial Chapel aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Nov. 19. The Super Cobra that Claiborne was piloting was involved in a mid-air collision with a Coast Guard C-130 "Hercules" near San Clemente Island, Oct. 29. (Official U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl.
