A Marine with Marine Wing Support Squadron 172, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing (Forward), sprays a layer of "rhino snot" on to the ground during the construction of a helicopter-landing zone. Rhino snot, a soil-stabilizer which hardens the dirt, preventing excessive kick-up when aircraft land, is a key step in the construction and improvement of HLZs. Building new landing zones and modifying existing ones throughout the Anbar Province are just two of the many jobs the "Firebirds" do on a daily basis.
