My name is GySgt Michael D. Lee and I am the Uniformed Readiness Coordinator (URC) for VMFA-211. I, along with the Command Team to include Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel Andrew D. D’Ambrogi , Executive Officer Major Michael D. Watts, and Sergeant Major Walter D. Gamez would like to extend a warm welcome to you. As the URC it is my job to help the Avengers and their families achieve personal and family readiness.
Personal and family readiness is the ability of the individual Marine and his family to successfully balance the challenges of the military lifestyle, family, career, and mission events. Although personal and family readiness remains the service member’s responsibility, you will not be alone to achieve this. The VMFA-211 Command Team in conjunction with Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS), Marine Corps Family Team Building (MCFTB), and I are all here to help. My specific responsibilities as the unit’s URC include official command communication, information and resource referral, readiness and deployment support and volunteer management.
You will receive periodic updates from our command which may include emails, phone calls, and newsletters. I encourage every Marine, Sailor and their family to get involved in our Family Readiness Program as participation helps create friendships and build a stronger support network among our military family. It is this support network which will help you endure the time spent away from your service member during deployments or training exercises.
I look forward to meeting you and please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
GySgt Michael Lee
Uniformed Readiness Coordinator
