Colonel Jeremie N. Hester

Col Jeremie N. Hester joined the Marine Corps October 23, 1991.

He holds undergraduate degrees from Southern Illinois University in Electronics Management and the University of Illinois in Finance.

Additionally, he earned master’s in military science from the Air University and Government Information Leadership (concentration in Cyber Security, distinguished graduate) from National Defense University.

Col Hester has held the ranks of E-1 through E-6 as an avionics technician and Marine Enlisted Commissioning Education Program candidate until commissioning in May of 1999. He was winged a Naval Aviator in June 2001 and completed AH-1W aircrew training in February of 2002.

Col Hester’s Fleet Marine Forces deployments include five to Central Command in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF, two LF6F) and Operation Enduring Freedom. He has participated in multiple joint and multi-national exercises including Infinite Moonlight, Kaya Green, Austere Challenge, Cyber Lighting, and Bold Alligator.

Col Hester is a graduate of the Marine Weapons and Tactics Instructor Course and later served on staff at Marine Aviation Weapons and Tactics Squadron One. He has served on the Marine Air Group (MAG) 29 staff as the Operations Officer and DSS as well as the Marine Special Operations Command staff as the G-3 Air and Fires Officer.

Col Hester’s last command billet was the Commanding Officer of Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 167, MAG-29 New River, NC.

Col Hester’s served jointly as the Deputy J3 for the Cyber National Mission Force, United States Cyber Command.

Col Hester’s previous billet was the 2d MAW AC/S Department of Safety and Standardization from June 2021 – June 2023.

Col Hester and his wife have three sons.
