Command Master Chief Peter E. Torres

Command Master Chief Torres began his naval career on June 06, 1992, onboard Recruit Training Command (RTC), San Diego, CA.

He completed Hospital Corpsman "A" school in 1993 and subsequently attended Advanced Medical Laboratory Technician "C" School at the Naval School of Health Science, San Diego, CA.

Command Master Chief Torres holds a Bachelor of Health Science Degree in Clinical Lab Science from Trident University, and a Certification, in Medical Lab Technology from George Washington University. He is a graduate of the Navy War College's Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 164), and Naval Leadership and Ethics Center, Command Master Chief Capstone Course (Class 18050), Newport, RI.

His fleet assignments include Fleet Surgical Team ONE, San Diego, CA, where he deployed aboard the USS TARAWA (LHA 1) in July 2000 in support of OPERATION RESTORE HOPE, East Timor and OPERATION DETERMINED RESPONSE, Aden, Yemen. He subsequently deployed aboard the USS BONHOMME RICHARD (LHD 6) WESTPAC 02-3 in November 2001 in support of OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM. Forward Deployed Preventive Medicine Unit FIVE, San Diego, CA. He participated in Homeland Defense support and deployed with I Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF) in February 2003, in support of the initial push of OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM and deployed with II MEF, Task Force-261 in January 2005 in support of OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM 04-6 forward operating base Al Assad, Al Anbar Province. 3rd Medical Battalion, III MEF, Okinawa, Japan as Senior Enlisted Leader (SEL) deployed in support of numerous theater security operations and exercises from 2009 to 2012. Marine Aircraft Group 39, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, I MEF, Camp Pendleton, CA, where he served as SEL. 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit, I MEF, Camp Pendleton, CA, he deployed aboard USS BOXER (LHD 4) WESTPAC 16-1 as SEL in February 2016 in support of OPERATION INHERENT RESOLVE and numerous theater security operations and exercises in the FIFTH, and SEVENTH Fleet's Area of Operation. 1st Marine Division, I MEF Camp Pendleton, CA, where he served as Deputy Command Master Chief (CMC). The Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS SPRUANCE (DDG 111), San Diego, CA, where he served as the CMC. SPRUANCE deployed in October 2018 with Johns C. Stennis Strike Group in support of OPERATION INHERENT RESOLVE, OPERATION FREEDOM'S SENTINEL, and various multi-nation exercises in the FIFTH and SEVENTH Fleet Area of Operation.

His shore assignments include Naval Medical Center San Diego, CA, Field Medical Training Battalion-West, Training and Education Command, Camp Pendleton, CA, and Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command, Camp Pendleton, CA.

In December 2022, he assumed duties as the Command Master Chief, 3d Marine Aircraft Wing onboard MCAS Miramar.

Command Master Chief Torres is designated a specialist in Fleet Marine Force (GCE, ACE, LCE), Surface, and Air Warfare, and holds a certification as a Master Training Specialist. Personal awards include Meritorious Service Medal (five awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), Army Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (three awards) as well as numerous unit, campaign, and service awards.
