Sergeant Major Jason E. Kamm was born in Garden City, Michigan and graduated from Harry S. Truman High School, in Taylor Michigan. He enlisted in the Marine Corps in November of 1997 and reported to Parris Island for recruit training in January 1998. Upon completion of recruit training he reported to Fort Leonardwood, Missouri for Motor Transport Operators Course. Private Kamm then report to 1st Battalion, 24th Marines in Perrysburg Ohio.
In 2002 Corporal Kamm reported to Recruiting Station Detroit for assignment as an extended active duty recruiter with RSS Ypsilanti. In December of 2004 Sergeant Kamm reported to 1st Battalion, 2nd Marines to serve as the Motor Transport Platoon Sergeant. During his time with 1/2 Sergeant Kamm deployed with the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit to Hit, Iraq from 2005-2006, and then again to the Al-Anbar province in 2007.
In late 2007 Sergeant Kamm reported to Marine Corps Combat Service Support Schools for assignment as a Motor Transport instructor for the Advance Motor Transport Schools and Logistics Officer courses. In May of 2008 he was promoted to Staff Sergeant.
In August of 2010 Staff Sergeant Kamm reported to Combat Logistics Regiment 35, Okinawa Japan. He was assigned as the regimental Unit Movement Control Chief and participated in multiple training exercises around the Pacific and Humanitarian support during Operation Tomodachi. In November of 2011 he reported to Combat Logistics Battalion 4 to deploy to the Helmand Province.
August of 2013, Staff Sergeant Kamm reported to 2nd Assault Amphibian Battalion and was assigned to Delta Company as the Motor Transport Chief. In September of 2014 he was promoted to Gunnery Sergeant and reported to 2nd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion and was assigned as the Motor Transport Operations Chief. During his time with 2nd LAR he held the billet of the Headquarters and Service Company First Sergeant, Company Operations Chief and Motor Transport Operations Chief.
First Sergeant Kamm was promoted in March of 2018 and reported to 3d Battalion 6th Marines. While assigned to Company K, 1stSgt Kamm conducted a UDP to Okinawa Japan. Upon return from the UDP 1stSgt Kamm then reported to Deployment Processing Command/Reserve Support Unit-East, to serve in his current position as Senior Enlisted Advisor.
March of 2022, Sergeant Major Kamm was promoted to his current rank and reported to MArine Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Squadron 1 to serve as the Squadron Sergeant Major. Then in July of 2024 Sergeant Major Kamm executed a PCA move to his current positionas the Squadron Sergeant Major for Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron - 13
Sergeant Major Kamm holds a Bachelor's Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and his personal decorations include Meritorious Service Medal x 2, Navy-Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy-Marine Corps Achievement Medal x 2, Combat Action Ribbon, Humanitarian Service Medal x 2 and Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal.
