MAG-39 Mission Statement

The mission of Marine Aircraft Group 39 is to provide combat-ready naval expeditionary forces capable of conducting task organized combat aviation support, aviation ground support, and aviation logistics.

Colonel Nathan S. Marvel
Commanding Officer, Marine Aircraft Group 39

Col Nathan S. Marvel was born and raised in Northwest Montana.  He enlisted in the Navy in 1992 and attended the Broadened Opportunity Officer Selection Training program (BOOST) in San Diego, California.  In 1994 he accepted an appointment to the United States Naval Academy.  He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering in 1998
