PACIFIC OCEAN – U.S. Marines with Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 211, 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), pose for a unit photo aboard the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Essex (LHD 2) during a regularly scheduled deployment of the Essex ARG and the 13th MEU, August 2, 2018. Mission Statement Under 3rd MAW

To support the Marine air-ground task force (MAGTF) commander by providing assault support transport of combat troops, supplies and equipment-day and night-under all weather conditions during expeditionary, joint, or combined operations.
