Lieutenant Colonel Jeffrey Robb

Lieutenant Colonel (LtCol) Jeffrey Robb graduated from Cal Poly with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.  He was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in August 2000 via the Officer Candidate Course.  Following completion of The Basic School, he reported to the Naval Air Training Command in Pensacola, Florida.  LtCol Robb was designated a Naval Aviator in January 2003 and reported to Marine Helicopter Training Squadron (HMT) 303 at Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Camp Pendleton, CA,  for fleet replacement training in the AH-1W Super Cobra.

Upon completion of initial training in the AH-1W, LtCol Robb reported to Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron (HMLA) 369, Marine Aircraft Group (MAG) 39 in August 2003.  LtCol Robb deployed on the Unit Deployment Program to Okinawa, Japan, in November 2003. 

In October 2004, LtCol Robb joined HMLA-367 and deployed to Al Anbar Province, Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.  Upon return, LtCol Robb rejoined HMLA-369 and deployed to Al Anbar Province, Iraq in September 2005, April 2007, and November 2008 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.  LtCol Robb attended the Weapons and Tactics Instructor Course in Yuma, Arizona in September 2006.  During his first fleet tour, he served as Airframes Officer in Charge, Pilot Training Officer, Future Operations Officer, Tactics Officer, and AH Standardization Officer.

In June 2009, LtCol Robb transferred to Special Operations Training Group (SOTG), I Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF) for duty as the Air Officer.  In January 2010, LtCol Robb was assigned the billet of SOTG Operations Officer where he remained until May 2012.

After his assignment at I MEF SOTG, LtCol Robb returned to MAG-39 and was assigned to HMLA-369.  In March 2013, LtCol Robb assumed duties as Operations Officer and in October 2013 deployed to Camp Bastion, Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.  Upon return in May 2014, LtCol Robb was promoted to Executive Officer.  He also completed AH-1Z series conversion training during this tour.

LtCol Robb was selected to attend U.S. Army Command and General Staff College (CGSC) in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas in June 2015. Upon graduation, LtCol Robb was recognized as a distinguished graduate and earned a Master’s of Military Arts and Science degree.

In June 2016, he was assigned to I MEF for duties as the Staff Secretary.  During this tour, LtCol Robb worked as special staff directly for the Commanding General. 

LtCol Robb returned to MAG-39 in July 2017 and assumed the duties as Operations Officer. In December 2018, LtCol Robb assumed his current duties as Commanding Officer, HMLA-369.

LtCol Robb has logged more than 3,200 flight hours, to include 1,300 in combat and 1,100 on night vision goggles.  His personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (gold star in lieu of third award), Air Medal with Combat Distinguishing Device (“V”) and Strike/Flight numeral 28, Navy/Marine Corps Commendation Medal (gold star in lieu of third award) and Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal (gold star in lieu of third award).
