Sergeant Major Dominguez was born on August 8, 1981, in Angeles City, Philippines. In June 1999, he graduated from Florin High School, Sacramento, California and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps.
In September 1999, Private Dominguez graduated recruit training from MCRD San Diego, California. In December 1999, he was promoted to the rank of Private First Class and proceeded to Naval Air Station Pensacola, Florida for “A” school. In March 2000, PFC Dominguez completed “C” school aboard Naval Air Station Oceana, Virginia, earning the MOS 6017, F18 Aircraft Mechanic. Upon graduating MOS school, he received orders to VMFA (AW)-224 “Fighting Bengals” MAG-31, 2nd MAW, MCAS Beaufort, South Carolina.
In June 2000, PFC Dominguez was meritoriously promoted to Lance Corporal. In December 2001, LCpl Dominguez was meritoriously promoted to the rank of Corporal and served as the Shift Supervisor. In December 2002, Cpl Dominguez attended Corporals Course aboard MCAS Beaufort, SC. Upon completion of Corporal's Course, Cpl Dominguez was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. During his tenure with the “Fighting Bengals”, Sgt Dominguez served as the Work Center Supervisor and has led successful deployments to Las Vegas, Nevada, Yuma, Arizona, 29 Palm, California, and the Western Pacific Theatre.
In November 2004, Sergeant Dominguez was assigned to VMFAT-101 “Sharp Shooters”, MAG-11, 3rd MAW, MCAS Miramar, San Diego, CA where he held many leadership billets to include Powerline Supervisor, Quality Assurance Representative, and Maintenance Controller. In June 2005, Sgt Dominguez was promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant and was later reassigned to VMFA (AW)-225 “Vikings” as Maintenance Control SNCOIC.
In February 2007, SSgt Dominguez was deployed to Kuwait and Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Shortly after returning from Iraq, SSgt Dominguez attended SNCO Academy in Camp Pendleton, CA and Drill Instructor School aboard MCRD San Diego, CA. After graduating Drill Instructor School in September 2008, SSgt Dominguez was assigned to 1st Recruit Training Battalion, Charlie Company.
In September 2010, SSgt Dominguez was promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant on top of the Grim Reaper the same place where he earned the coveted Eagle, Globe, and Anchor as a recruit. After his tour as Senior Drill Instructor, GySgt Dominguez served as the
1st Recruit Training Battalion's Company GySgt and subsequently attended Advanced Career Course in Camp Pendleton, CA.
In January 2012, GySgt Dominguez was reassigned to VMFA (AW)-242 “Bats”, MAG-12, 1st MAW, MCAS Iwakuni, Japan where he held top leadership billets to include Powerline Division Chief and Maintenance Control Chief. During his tenure, he led the Marines through many successful deployments to Thailand, Philippines, Okinawa, Guam, and Australia. In January 2014, GySgt Dominguez was reassigned back to MCAS Miramar, CA with VMFAT-101 and served as the Powerline Division Chief. In January 2015, GySgt Dominguez was promoted to the rank of First Sergeant.
In February 2015, First Sergeant Dominguez was assigned to 1st Combat Engineer Battalion, 1st Marine Division, Camp Pendleton, California where he served as Alpha and Charlie Company First Sergeant. In December 2015, 1stSgt Dominguez led his Marines as Security Forces in Duqm, Oman in direct support of the Maritime Pre-positioning Force offload.
In June 2017, First Sergeant Dominguez reported to Camp Butler, Okinawa, Japan where he served as Alpha Company First Sergeant and Battalion Sergeant Major for Headquarters and Support Battalion, Marine Corps Installations Pacific. In July 2019, First Sergeant Dominguez reported to Combat Logistics Regiment-3, Camp Foster, Okinawa, Japan where he served as the Headquarters Company First Sergeant. In May 2020, First Sergeant Dominguez was promoted to his current rank and served as the Sergeant Major for Marine Corps Recruiting Station, Portland, Oregon. In July 2023, SgtMaj Dominguez reported to VMFA-232 “Red Devils”, MAG-11, 3rd MAW, MCAS Miramar, San Diego, CA where he currently serves as the Squadron Sergeant Major.
SgtMaj Dominguez's personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal with one gold star in lieu of 2nd award, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with two gold stars in lieu of 3rd award, and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with three gold stars in lieu of 4th award.
