Sergeant Major Daniel W. Beighley

Sergeant Major Beighley enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1997 and attended recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, South Carolina. Upon graduation , he reported to Marine Corps Base, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina for Marine Combat Training. Upon completion, Private First Class Beighley reported to Marine Corps Engineer Detachment, Fort Leonardwood Missouri, where he received the MOS of Engineer Equipment Mechanic.

In March 1998, Private First Class Beighley received orders to 1st Maintenance Battalion, Engineer Maintenance Company, Camp Pendleton, California. Upon arrival he was assigned to the Small Craft Intermediate Repair Facility at the 1st Marine Regimental Boat House and attended the Small Craft Mechanic's Course at Marine Corps Engineer School, Court House Bay, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina and received the secondary MOS of Small Craft Mechanic.

In May 1999, Corporal Beighley was transferred to Marine Expeditionary Unit Service Support Group-15, 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit where he served as Chief Small Craft Mechanic, and deployed aboard the USS Denver (LPD 9) on West-Pac 2000 in support of Operation Southern Watch. In June 2000, Sergeant Beighley returned back to the 1st Marine Regimental Boat House and was assigned as the Small Craft Intermediate Repair Facility Noncommissioned Officer in charge.

In March 2002, Sergeant Beighley received orders to III Marine Expeditionary Force Special Operations Training Group, III MEF Headquarters Group, Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, where he served as the Small Craft Maintenance Chief and Small Craft Raid Platoon Sergeant.

In January 2006, Staff Sergeant Beighley received orders to lst Force Reconnaissance Company, I MEF Headquarters Group, Camp Pendleton, California for assignment as Company Amphib Chief. In October 2006, Staff Sergeant Beighley transferred to 1st Marine Special Operations Battalion , Marine Special Operations Command, Camp Pendleton, California for assignment as the Battalion Amphib Chief. Between 2007 and 2010, he deployed with Marine Special Operations Company B as the Company Gunnery Sergeant and Marine Special Operations Team 8122 as the Team Support Chief in support of Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force-Afghanistan.

In December 2010, Gunnery Sergeant Beighley received orders to Expeditionary Warfare Training Group Pacific, Naval Amphibious Base Coronado, California, for assignment as the Amphibious Raid and Reconnaissance Boat House Staff Noncommissioned Officer in charge and Small Craft Repair Course Chief.

In January 2014, First Sergeant Beighley received orders to 3D Intelligence Battalion, III MEF Headquarters Group, Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, for assignment as Headquarters and Support Company First Sergeant. In January 2016, First Sergeant Beighley received orders to Marine Barracks Washington, District of Columbia, for assignment as Security Company First Sergeant at Naval Support Facility Thurmont, Maryland.

In October 2018, Sergeant Major Beighley was promoted to his current rank and assigned to Recruiting Station Orange, California. His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with two gold stars in lieu of third award, Army Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with Combat "V" and three gold stars in lieu of fourth award and the combat action ribbon. He is also authorized to wear the Presidential Service Badge and Navy and Marine Corps Parachutist insignia.
