Sergeant Major Justin J. Corriveau

Sergeant Major Justin J. Corriveau enlisted in the Marine Corps in August 2005 and attended Recruit Training at MCRD, San Diego. Upon completion of Recruit Training, he attended Marine Corps Communication and Electronics Schools (MCCES) in 29 Palms, California and obtained the MOS 0656, Tactical Data Network Operator. 

Private First Class Corriveau reported to Headquarters Company, 2nd Marine Regiment in July 2006. During this assignment he held the billet of Tactical Data Network Specialist. In December 2006, he deployed to Al Asad, Iraq, serving as SAW Gunner and Driver within 3 different sections of the Provisional Rifle Platoon. Upon returning from deployment in January 2008, he was selected to be the regiment’s Color Sergeant. Promoted to Sergeant in December 2009, he later deployed in January 2010 to Forward Operating Base Delaram II, Afghanistan as the Assistant Data Chief and Systems Control Watch Chief.   

In September 2011, Sergeant Corriveau reported to Drill Instructor School, MCRD, Parris Island, SC and was assigned to Company M, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion where he served 5 cycles as a Drill Instructor and also served as the Battalion Color Sergeant. He was later promoted to Staff Sergeant in May 2014, where he completed 3 additional cycles as a Senior Drill Instructor. 

Staff Sergeant Corriveau reported to 9th Communication Battalion in February 2015 and was assigned to Contingency Support Company where he served as Platoon Sergeant, Platoon SNCOIC, and Company Gunnery Sergeant. In June 2016, Staff Sergeant Corriveau was selected for the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit to be the Command Element Cyber Network Chief. In July 2017, he deployed with the 15th MEU in support of WESTPAC 17.2 and was embarked on the USS America.   

In March 2018, Gunnery Sergeant Corriveau reported to NROTC Unit, Texas A&M University as the Assistant Marine Officer Instructor (AMOI). He also served at Officer Candidates School for three summers as a Sergeant Instructor for India and Lima Company. During his tour, he was recognized as the 2019 USAA AMOI of the Year for the Southwest Region, the 2020 Naval Service Training Command Marine of the Year, and the 2021 Texas A&M University Division of Student Affairs Advisor of the Year.   

Gunnery Sergeant Corriveau reported to Communication Training Battalion in June 2021, where he first served as the Bravo Company Advanced Training Platoon (ATP) SNCOIC, overseeing the Data Systems and Network Chief courses. He was later moved to Headquarters Company, where he served as both the ATP Operations Chief and the Basic Communications Officer Course Data Systems Instructor. 

In January 2022, First Sergeant Corriveau was promoted and reported to 3d Battalion 4th Marines, serving as Company First Sergeant for Company L and Headquarters and Service Company, deploying in support of Unit Deployment Program-West (UDP-W) 23.1, and again for UDP-W 25.1 as the battalion was conducting Phase II of the Infantry Battalion Experiment in support of Force Design 2030. 

Sergeant Major Corriveau was promoted to his current rank in May 2025 and assumed his current position as Command Senior Enlisted Leader for Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 466. 

Sergeant Major Corriveau has his Bachelors of Science in Administrative Leadership from the University of Oklahoma. His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3rd Award), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (2nd award), Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, and Drill Instructor Ribbon.
