Sergeant Major Mauricio E. Grande

Sergeant Major Grande was born in San Salvador, El Salvador on February 25, 1981. He reported to Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego on August 16, 1999- originally from Azusa, Ca. Upon completion of recruit training, he attended Marine Combat Training (MCT) at Camp Pendleton CA. Upon completion of MCT, he attended his MOS school at Camp Johnson N.C receiving the 3521 PMOS MT mechanic.

In May of 2000, LCpl Grande checked into Bravo Battery, 1st Bn, 11th Marines. Where he served as line mechanic and shop chief. In August of 2001 LCpl Grande deployed on the 15th MEU in support of OEF. Upon his return in March of 2002, he then re-deployed February 2003 in support of OIF.
 In July of 2003 Sergeant Grande transferred to Recruiter School upon graduation, he then checked in to RS Orange, RSS La Puente where he served as canvassing recruiter and SNCOIC.
In January of 2008 Staff Sergeant Grande transferred to CLB-5 and served as Detachment commander in support of OIF, upon his return he then re-deployed in 2010 in support of OEF as the Company GySgt.
In February of 2011 SSgt Grande transferred to Inspector & Instructor duty 3D ANGLICO, where he served as Motor T Chief, SACO, and Armory Chief.
In August of 2014 GySgt Grande transferred to 3D LAR BN, where he served as the BN Motor Transport Maintenance Chief. 

In January 2016 1stSgt Grande was frocked to dated rank and served as Comanche Company 1stSgt in support of UDP.
In September 2017, 1stSgt Grande reported to 3rd Bn, 1st Marines where he served as Kilo Company 1stSgt in support of 13th MEU. Upon his return he served as the H&S Company 1stSgt

On March 20, 2020 SgtMaj Grande was frocked to his current rank, and transferred to RS New York where he served as RS SgtMaj until May, 2023.
In June of 2023, SgtMaj Grande transferred to HMH-465, where he served as Squadron SgtMaj.


In May of 2024, SgtMaj Grande transferred to HMH-465, where he served as MAG 16 SgtMaj.
SgtMaj Grande's awards include: Meritorious Service Medal,  Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with two gold star, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with one gold star, and Combat Action Ribbon.
