Major John Brown

Major John Brown was born and raised in Coral Springs, FL.  After graduating high school in 2006, he attended Florida Atlantic University.  Major Brown graduated in 2008 with his bachelor's in Criminal Justice and in 2010 with his Master's in Forensic Accounting.  He was commissioned as Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps in 2011.

Then 2nd Lieutenant Brown reported to The Basic School in March 2012.  Upon completion, he reported for flight training at Naval Air Station (NAS) Pensacola, Florida, NAS Whiting Field, Florida, and NAS Corpus Christi, Texas.  He was designated a Naval Aviator in 2015 and reported to Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) New River, North Carolina, for instruction as an MV-22B Osprey pilot at the Fleet Replacement Squadron (FRS), Marine Medium Tiltrotor Training Squadron 204 (VMMT-204).

Upon completing the FRS, Major Brown reported to Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 266 (VMM-266), where he served as operations schedule writer, Embarkation Officer, Logistics Officer, and Administrative Officer.  In August 2016 and October 2018, Major Brown deployed with Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force Crisis Response-Africa (SPMAGTF-CR-AF) 16.2 and 19.1, respectively.

In June 2019, Major Brown joined VMM-262 in Okinawa, Japan.  He worked as a Current Operations Officer, Future Operations Officer, and Quality Assurance Officer.  He deployed to the 31st MEU 20.2 and 21.1 on August 2020 and January 2021, respectively.

In 2021, Major Brown joined MAG-36 and worked as the Aviation Safety Officer and Director of Safety and Standardization.

In June 2022, Major Brown joined VMM-164 in Oceanside, California, as the Executive Officer.
