Lieutenant Colonel Nicholas J. Lozar

Lieutenant Colonel Lozar holds a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from Virginia Tech, a Master of Arts in Leadership from the University of Oklahoma, and a Master of Military Art and Science from Army Command and General Staff College.

Lieutenant Colonel Lozar was commissioned a Second Lieutenant on 12 May 2001.  After completing the Basic School and Logistics Officers Course, he was assigned as a Motor Transport Platoon Commander, Support Company and Landing Support Platoon Commander, Landing Support Company, 1st Transportation Support Battalion.

In February of 2003 Second Lieutenant Lozar was assigned as the Motor Transport Officer, Combat Service Support Battalion 10 during the invasion of Iraq.  He was promoted to First Lieutenant on 25 May 2003 and assigned as the Motor Transport Detachment Commander, Combat Service Support Company 101 during Phase IV stability operations in Iraq.

Upon return from Iraq, First Lieutenant Lozar was assigned as the Officer in Charge, Beach Operations Control Group, Kuwait Naval Base for the redeployment of U.S. Forces to Iraq.  Upon his return in March, 2004 he was assigned as the Air Delivery Platoon Commander, 1st Landing Support Company.

In November 2005, First Lieutenant Lozar was assigned as the S-4 Officer, Marine Tactical Air Command Squadron 18, Okinawa, Japan.  He was promoted to Captain on 1 December 2005.

From 2008 to 2011 Captain Lozar attended Expeditionary Warfare School, served as an academics instructor at Officer Candidate School, a capabilities integration officer at the Logistics Integration Division under the Deputy Commandant for Combat Development and Integration, and the Aide de Camp to the Deputy Commanding General, Marine Corps Combat Development Command.

In July 2011 Captain Lozar served as the Logistics Plans Officer, G-4, 1st Marine Division during Operation ENDURING FREEDOM 12.1.  He was promoted to Major on 1 April 2012.  Upon his return from Afghanistan, he was assigned as the S-4 Officer, Headquarters Battalion, 1st Marine Division.

In July 2014 he attended Army Command and General Staff College, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.  He was then assigned as the Aviation Logistics Strategy and Plans Officer and Innovation Lead, Department of Aviation, Headquarters Marine Corps.

In July 2018, he was assigned as the Executive Officer, Combat Logistics Regiment 1.  He was promoted to his current rank on 1 Aug 2018.  He assumed command of Marine Wing Support Squadron 371 on 6 Dec 2019.

Lieutenant Colonel Lozar’s personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, the Combat Action Ribbon, and is a 3-time competitive shooting medalist.
