Lieutenant Colonel Robillard was commissioned in May 2005 upon graduating from Biola University and completing the Platoon Leader Course program. After graduating from The Basic School, he began flight training at Naval Air Station (NAS) Pensacola. In 2008 he earned his designation as a Naval Aviator and reported to Marine Fighter Attack Training Squadron 101 at MCAS Miramar for FA-18 training.
In 2010, Capt. Robillard joined Marine Fighter Attack Squadron (All Weather) 225 (VMFA [AW]-225) at MCAS Miramar. Between 2010 and 2013, he deployed twice to Japan in support of the Unit Deployment Program (UDP) and held billets including Schedules Officer, NATOPS
Officer, and Quality Assurance Officer.
In 2013, Capt. Robillard served as the Air Officer for 2nd Battalion, 5th Marines at Camp Pendleton, deploying with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) in the INDOPACOM area of operations. Following that tour, he returned to VMFA(AW)-225 and deployed twice more in support of UDP and graduated from the MAWTS-1 Weapons and Tactics Instructor (WTI) course, subsequently serving as the squadron's Pilot Training Officer.
From 2017 to 2019, Maj Robillard was assigned to the Tactical Training and Exercise Control Group (TTECG) in Twentynine Palms, California, where he served as Assistant Air Officer for Service-Level Training Exercises and graduated from the WTI Air Officer Course.
In 2019, he returned to 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing and served with VMFA-232 "Red Devils" as Operations Officer, Executive Officer, and Aviation Maintenance Officer participating in Red Flag Nellis, Red Flag Alaska and deployed to Japan via UDP.
In 2021, he was selected to attend the School of Advanced Air and Space Studies (SAASS) at Maxwell AFB, where he earned an MPhil in Military Strategy. Following SAASS, LtCol Robillard reported to Headquarters Marine Corps, Department of Aviation, where he served as the Aviation MAGTF Planner. In this role, he led the development and planning of Project EAGLE. During his HQMC tour, LtCol Robillard was selected as a MIT Seminar XXI Fellow and earned a second master's degree from St. John's College in Annapolis, Maryland, with a focus on the Great Books.
In 2025, LtCol Robillard reported to MAG-11 were he served as the MAG-11 HQs and Personnel Support Detachment Commanding officer.
