Sergeant Major Nicole L. Brooks

SgtMaj Brooks enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in April 2004 and reported to recruit training at MCRD Parris Island, SC. SgtMaj Brooks was meritoriously promoted to Private First Class graduating from boot camp in July 2004. SgtMaj Brooks then attended Marine Combat Training at Camp Geiger, NC. Upon completion SgtMaj Brooks attended Intelligence Specialist Training at the Navy and Marine Corps Intelligence Training Center.

In March 2005, SgtMaj Brooks reported to, then, 3D Force Service Support Group, Camp Kinser Okinawa Japan during their transition to Marine Logistics Group. SgtMaj Brooks meritoriously promoted to Corporal in October 2005. SgtMaj Brooks deployed with 9th Engineer Support Battalion as the S-2 Chief in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom 6-2, al Taqqadum Air Station, Iraq. SgtMaj Brooks was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in December 2007.

In January 2008, SgtMaj Brooks reported to I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, California as the Intelligence Operations Chief. She deployed with 1st Intelligence Battalion to Camp Fallujah Iraq, operating in the Tactical Fusion Center as an Intelligence Analyst. During the deployment SgtMaj Brooks transferred back to I MEF as the G-2 Intelligence Watch Chief in the Multi-National Forces West (MNF-W) Command Operation Center (COC).

In March 2010, SgtMaj Brooks deployed to Camp Leatherneck, Afghanistan as the Regional Command South West (RC-SW) COC G-2 Watch Chief and the RC-SW Commanding General's intelligence briefer, operating out of the Southwest Analyst Center providing daily intelligence updates. SgtMaj Brooks was promoted to Staff Sergeant in June 2010.

In May 2011, SgtMaj Brooks reported to the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, Washington, D.C. assigned as a Defense Combating Terrorism Center Weapons Branch Analyst. SgtMaj Brooks was then assigned to the Watchlisting Branch, reviewing Human Intelligence Reports and providing nominations to the Terrorism Watch List. SgtMaj Brooks was promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant in March 2013. SgtMaj Brooks was then selected to be the Command Element Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Director of DIA.

In July 2014, SgtMaj Brooks reported to Marine Aircraft Group 13 as the S-2 Chief. In February 2015, SgtMaj Brooks welcomed her first child, Riley. In 2015, SgtMaj Brooks earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social and Criminal Justice. SgtMaj Brooks was selected for First Sergeant in December of 2015.

In May 2016, SgtMaj Brooks reported to Headquarters Battalion, 1st Marine Division as the Communications Company First Sergeant. In January 2017, the Brooks family welcomed their daughter, Ember. In October 2018, SgtMaj Brooks deployed with Battery E, Battalion Landing Team 1/4, in support of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit. Upon completion of deployment, SgtMaj Brooks was assigned as the Truck Company First Sergeant, Headquarters Battalion. In February 2020, SgtMaj Brooks reported to 1st Maintenance Battalion, 1st Marine Logistics Group as the Motor Transport Maintenance Company First Sergeant.

SgtMaj Brooks was selected to SgtMaj in November 2020, and is currently assigned as the VMFA-214 Squadron Sergeant Major.

SgtMaj Brooks' personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3 gold stars in lieu of 4th award), and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
