Major Adams was born and raised in Gainesville, FL graduating from Buchholz High School in 2003. He graduated from the University of South Florida in Tampa, FL with a Bachelor's degree in Criminology in 2007. Maj Adams completed Officer Candidate School via the Platoon Leaders Course while attending college and was commissioned a 2ndLt in June 2007.
Maj Adams completed The Basic School in May 2008. Upon graduation from TBS, he reported to NAS Pensacola and joined MATSG-21, there he complete Introductory Flight School and Aeronautical Preflight Indoctrination. Next, Maj Adams reported to NAS Whiting Field and completed Primary Flight School with VT-6. Upon completion of Primary Flight School, Maj Adams reported to HT-28 to begin Intermediate Helicopter School. Maj Adams then moved to NAS Corpus Christi and joined VT-35, MATSG-22 to complete Advanced Multi-Engine School. Upon completion of Advanced Multi-Engine School he was winged as a Naval Aviator in November 2010. Maj Adams next reported to MCAS New River and checked into VMMT-204 and completed the MV-22B Fleet Replacement Syllabus. While attached to VMMT-204, Maj Adams also complete SERE School.
In 2011 Maj Adams reported to MCAS Miramar and joined VMM-166, MAG-16. While attached to VMM-166, Maj Adams deployed in 2013 as part of the 13th MEU, supporting multiple inter-service operations and joint operations. Maj Adams again deployed on the 13th MEU with VMM-166 in 2016 and again supported several multiple inter-service operations and joint operations. During his time with VMM-166, Maj Adams held multiple billets serving as the squadron's Ground Safety Officer, Current Operations Officer, Pilot Training Officer and Airframes OIC.
Upon return from the 2016 13th MEU, Maj Adams left VMM-166 and reported to MCB Quantico and joined HMX-1. During his time with HMX-1, Maj Adams achieved the White House Tiltrotor Aircraft Commander designation and supported numerous Presidential Lift Operations spanning multiple countries around the globe. While attached to HMX-1, Maj Adams held the billets of Current Operations Officer, Flight Equipment OIC and Manpower OIC.
In 2019 Maj Adams left HMX-1 and returned to MCAS Miramar and rejoined VMM-166. Upon returning to VMM-166, Maj Adams assumed the billet of the squadron's Operations Officer and supported Service Level Training Exercise 2-20 in preparation for the squadron's SPMAGTF-CR-CC 20.2 deployment. While in the CENTCOM AOR, the squadron supported multiple inter-service training exercise and Operation Inherent Resolve. Upon return from the SPMAGTF-CR-CC 20.2 deployment, Maj Adams assumed the role as the squadron's Aviation Maintenance Officer and began developing, coordinating and executing the VMM-166 deactivation plan.
In June 2021, Maj Adams reported to VMM-161 to assume the billet as the squadron's Executive Officer.
His personal awards include Air Medal with Roman Numeral Three, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with Gold Star in lieu of second award and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
