Major Daniel Wilson

Major Wilson is from Lynchburg, Virginia and enlisted in the Marine Corps, completing Recruit Training, Marine Combat Training, and Aviation Structural Hydraulic Mechanic Course in 2007, followed by his billet in the SMCR as CH-46E Airframes and Hydraulics Mechanic at HMM-774 from 2007 to 2011 achieving the rank of Corporal.  He completed Platoon Leaders Course in July 2009 while attending Liberty University where he graduated in December 2010 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Aeronautics and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps in May 2011.  Upon completing The Basic School in May 2012, he attended the Aviation Supply Basic Qualification Course Newport, RI where he graduated in December 2012.

 

Second Lieutenant Wilson checked into Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 26 (MALS-26), New River, NC where he served in several billets in the Aviation Supply Department at between 2012 and 2016 including Squadron Support Division, Marine Aircraft Group 26 – Fiscal, Supply Response Division, as well as Squadron Continuous Process Improvement Officer and the squadron S-4 Officer.  First Lieutenant Wilson deployed during this tour to SPMAGTF-CR-AFRICA in Moron, Spain as the MALS Detachment OIC and was promoted to Captain in January of 2016.

 

Captain Wilson served as the USMC Fleet Liaison to Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center – Atlantic from July 2016 until May 2019.  During this time, he achieved a master’s in business administration, graduating Summa Cum Laude from Trident University in May 2019.

 

In May 2019, Captain Wilson reported to 2d Marine Aircraft Wing where he served as the Assistant Aviation Supply Officer (AASO) until September 2020 when he reported to MALS-29 to fill the AASO billet at the MALS-29 Aviation Supply Department until June 2021.  From June 2021 until June 2022 Captain Wilson filled the billet of Information Operations Planner at the Command Element II Marine Expeditionary Force working both in the Current Operations Center (G-33) as well as the Fires and Effects Coordination Center (G-39). He was promoted to Major in April 2022.

 

In June 2022, Major Wilson reported to Naval Amphibious Force, Task Force 51/5th Marine Expeditionary Brigade in Bahrain where he served as the Aviation Logistics Officer in the Directorate of Logistics. During this time Major Wilson participated in numerous exercises and named operations to include JTF-CR World Cup 2022.

 

Major Wilson reported to his current assignment at MALS-13 in July 2023 where he has served as the Operations Officer and transitioned to his current position as Executive Officer in May 2024.

 

Major Wilson’s personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with one gold star, the Joint Service Achievement Medal, and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with two gold stars.  He is married with two children.
