Sergeant Major Alexander Caro

Sergeant Major Alexander Caro is a native of Brooklyn, NY. He enlisted on 11 July 2005 and attended recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Paris Island, South Carolina. Upon graduating as a Private First Class (PFC) he reported to Marine Combat Training School (MCT) at Camp Geiger, Jacksonville, North Carolina. Shortly after completing MCT he attended Military Occupational School (MOS) at Camp Johnson, North Carolina for training at Supply School for the Enlisted Basic Warehouse Course.
 
Upon completion of training and receiving the 3051 MOS, PFC Class Caro reported to Combat Logistics Regiment 17, 1st Marine Logistics Group, Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, CA to serve as a Warehouse and Personal Effects Clerk.

In August 2006, Lance Corporal Caro deployed to Iraq in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM as part of a Provisional Security Platoon out of Al-Taqaddum Air Base, Al Anbar Province. He returned to Camp Pendleton on March 2007 and received Temporary Assignment Duty orders to I MEF, G1 via March Air Reserve Base, Moreno Valley, CA to serve as Manifest Clerk. Deploying and Redeploying Marines in Support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM and Operation ENDURING FREEDOM.

In May 2008, Corporal Caro reported to Marine Security Guard School (MSG) Class 4-08, Marine Corps Embassy Security Group in Quantico, Virginia. Upon completion of MSG School in July 2008 he earned the MOS 8156 Marine Security Guard. His assignments included American Embassies Doha, Qatar, Athens, Greece and Abuja, Nigeria.

Upon completion of MSG duty, Sergeant (Sgt) Caro reported to 3d Battalion 5th Marines, 1st Marine Division, Camp Pendleton, CA on July 2011 to serve as the Battalion Supply Warehouse Chief where he supported various exercises in preparation for the battalions upcoming deployment. 
 
In June, 2012 Sgt Caro requested a lateral move to the MOS 0431, Embarkation Logistics Specialist. He volunteered and deployed to Afghanistan in November 2012 in Support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM, Camp Leatherneck with the Redeployment and Retrograde in Support of Reset and Reconstitution Operations Group to conduct on the job training as an Embarkations Chief. Upon returning from Afghanistan, Staff Sergeant (SSgt) Caro attended the Basic Logistics Embarkation Course on Camp Johnson, North Carolina from August to September, 2013. 
 
In November, 2013 SSgt Caro executed orders to Marine Corps Security Cooperation Group (MCSCG), Virginia Beach, VA. His first Assignment within MCSCG was with the S4 section as the Embarkations Chief. Soon after he assumed his position with MCSCG as the Logistics Chief, NORTHCOM/SOUTHCOM Coordination Liaison Assessment Training Teams and conducted various advisor assignments as a foreign security force advisor across Latin America from May 2014 to November 2015. 
 
In December 2015 SSgt Caro reported the 2d Marine Raider Support Battalion, Logistics Company, Camp Lejuene, NC and assumed his position as the Logistics Chief for Logistics Support Team, F. Later attached to Marine Special Operations Company F, 2d Marine Raider Battalion. He deployed to Al-Udeid  Air Base Qatar in support of ongoing missions for Operation INHERENT RESOLVE. 
 
On December 2017 Gunnery Sergeant (GySgt) Caro reported to Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 164, Marine Aircraft Group 39, Marine Corps Air Station, Camp Pendleton, CA as the Squadron Gunnery Sergeant and Logistics Chief and supported various exercises for the squadrons upcoming deployment. He deployed to Al Jaber Air Base, Kuwait in support of ongoing missions for Operation INHERENT RESOLVE Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force- Crisis Response- Central Command 18.2. 
 
Upon redeployment GySgt Caro was selected to the rank of First Sergeant (1stSgt). In October 2019 he was frocked to the rank 1stSgt and transfered to 3d Battalion, 1st Marines, 1st Marine Division, Camp Pendleton, CA and assumed the position as the Company L 1stSgt. He deployed to Al Jaber Air Base, Kuwait in support of ongoing missions for Operation INHERENT RESOLVE, Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force- Crisis Response- Central Command 21.1. 
 
On May 2021 1stSgt Caro reported to Expeditionary Warfare Training Group Pacific, Coronado, CA and for duty as the Command Senior Enlisted Leader.   
 
In February 2024, 1stSgt Caro was frocked to the rank of Sergeant Major and transfered to Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 122, Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, AZ for his current assignment the Command Senior Enlisted Leader.  

He holds a Bachelor of Arts on Social and Criminal Justice from Ashford University. His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with one star in lieu of second award and the Navy Marine Corps Achievement Medal with two gold stars in lieu of third award.
