Lieutenant Colonel Christopher R. Seemayer

Lieutenant Colonel Christopher R. Seemayer commissioned in 2006 upon graduating from Miami University with a Bachelor of Arts in History. An Aircraft Maintenance Officer, his initial fleet assignments include Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 36 (MALS-36) as the Airframes Officer and Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron 152 (VMGR-152) as the Material Control Officer at MCAS Futenma, where he supported KC-130F/R and KC-130J operations across the Western Pacific. He also served as the Maintenance Material Control Officer for MV-22B, CH-46E, and CH-53D/E aircraft during WTI 1-09.

As the Aircraft Maintenance Officer (AMO) at MALS-16 and MAG-16 aboard MCAS Miramar, he supported the transition from CH-46E to MV-22B as well as CH-53E sustainment. He deployed to Kandahar Airfield in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM as the Fixed Wing Aircraft Maintenance Officer for KC-130J, AV-8B, and F/A-18C/D aircraft. He served as Assistant Aircraft Maintenance Officer, Production Control Officer, and Power Plants Officer prior to his assignment as the AMO.

He later served at MALS-39 at MCAS Camp Pendleton as Operations Officer and Executive Officer, supporting AH-1Z, UH-1Y, and MV-22B squadrons. Most recently, he served on staff at 3d Marine Aircraft Wing in the Aviation Logistics Department at MCAS Miramar. He currently serves as the Commanding Officer of MALS-39.

His acquisition and joint experience include serving as the Assistant Program Manager for Logistics at NAVAIR PMA-263 at NAS Patuxent River, leading sustainment for RQ-21A Blackjack and all Navy and Marine Corps Group 1–3 UAS. As a U.S. Marine Corps Exchange Officer to the Royal Air Force (RAF) at RAF Marham, he commanded the UK Sustainment Operations Wing and Logistics Operations Centre after serving as the Combat Air Force J-4/6 Branch Head, supporting the RAF’s F-35B fleet.

Lieutenant Colonel Seemayer was the 2014 recipient of the Captain Chuck Nechvatal AMO of the Year Award. He holds an MBA from Southern Illinois University and a Master of Military Operational Art and Science from Air Command and Staff College. His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (2nd award), and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
