Sergeant Major Rose is a native of West Monroe, Louisiana. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in March 2001 and attended recruit training with Platoon 2058, Echo Company, 2d Recruit Training Battalion, Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego. Upon completion, he attended the School of Infantry at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton and earned the Military Occupation Skill (MOS) of 0341 Mortarman.
In August 2001, Sergeant Major Rose reported to 81's Platoon, Weapons Company, 2d Battalion, 4th Marines, 5th Marine Regiment at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton and held the billet of Mortarman Gunner. He was promoted to Lance Corporal in December 2001. He participated in one deployment to Okinawa, Japan and was meritoriously promoted to Corporal in September 2002.
In March 2003, Sergeant Major Rose reported to Marine Security Guard School at Marine Corps Base Quantico. Upon Graduation in May 2003, he reported to the United States Embassy Cairo, Egypt and held the billets of Watch Stander, Supply Non-Commissioned Officer and Sergeant of the Guard. In July 2004, Sergeant Major Rose reported to the American Embassy Tirana, Albania and held the billets of Watch Stander, Training Non-Commissioned Officer and React Non-Commissioned Officer. He was promoted to Sergeant in September 2004. In January 2006, Sergeant Major Rose reported to the American Embassy Bridgetown, Barbados and held the billet of Assistant Detachment Commander.
In January 2007, Sergeant Major Rose reported to 81's Platoon, Weapons Company, 3d Battalion, 3d Marine Regiment at Marine Corps Base Hawaii and held the billets of 81's Squad Leader and Section Leader. During this tour, he participated in Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) 06-08, in Karma, Iraq. He was promoted to Staff Sergeant in November 2008. In January 2009, Sergeant Major Rose reported to 1st Fleet Antiterrorism Security Team, Marine Corps Security Force Regiment at Norfolk Naval Base, Virginia and held the billet of Platoon Sergeant for 3rd Platoon and 1st Platoon. During this tour, he participated in three deployments: two to Naval Base Rota, Spain in 2009 and 2011, and one to Guantanamo Bay Naval Base in 2010. During his deployments to Naval Base Rota, Spain, Sergeant Major Rose trained with the Israeli Defense Force (IDF), Spanish Marines, and Mauritanian Soldiers.
In March 2012, Sergeant Major Rose reported to Company F, 2d Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment at Marine Corps Base Twentynine Palms and held the billets of Platoon Sergeant for 3rd Platoon, Assistant Operations Chief and Company Gunnery Sergeant. In September 2012, he deployed in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM to Musa Qala, Afghanistan and in September 2014, he deployed in support of Operation INHERENT RESOLVE (OIR) Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force-Crisis Response-Central Command (SPMAGTF CR-CC) 14.1 at the American Embassy Baghdad, Iraq. He was promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant in July 2015. In February 2016, Sergeant Major Rose reported to Company C, 1st Battalion, 23d Marine Regiment and held the billets of Inspector-Instructor Operations Chief and Company Gunnery Sergeant. He was promoted to the rank of First Sergeant in May 2019.
In May 2019, Sergeant Major Rose reported to 2d Low Altitude Air Defense Battalion, Marine Air Control Group 28, 2d Marine Aircraft Wing at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point and held the billets of Battery First Sergeant for Alpha Battery from June 2019 to October 2020 and Headquarters and Service Battery from November 2020 to July 2021. In July 2021, Sergeant Major Rose reported to 8th Engineer Support Battalion, Combat Logistics Regiment 27, 2d Marine Logistics Group at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune and held the billet of Company First Sergeant for Headquarters and Service Company. He was promoted to Sergeant Major in December 2022. In January 2023, Sergeant Major Rose reported to Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron, Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, Marine Corps Installations -West.
In September 2024, Sergeant Major Rose reported to VMFA-211 and currently holds the billet of Command Senior Enlisted Leader.
Sergeant Major Rose earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Management from University of Phoenix in 2016.
Sergeant Major Rose's personal decorations include: The Meritorious Service Medal (gold star in lieu of second award), The Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, The Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (gold star in lieu of fifth award), Meritorious Mast, and five Letters of Appreciation.
Sergeant Major Rose and his wife Regina have three sons: Tushkahoma, Takoda, and Kenai.
