Sergeant Major Richard H. Troncatti II

Sergeant Major Richard H. Troncatti II was born in Hagerstown, Maryland in 1981. He entered the Marine Corps in August 1999, and conducted recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, South Carolina. Upon graduation, he attended Marine Combat Training along with Basic Engineer Equipment Operator Course. 
In April 2000, Private First Class Troncatti reported to Support Company, 1st Transportation Support Battalion, Camp Pendleton, California. During this tour he was promoted through the ranks to Sergeant and deployed with the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit; the Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force, Maritime Prepositioning Force to Camp Fox, Kuwait; and to Camp Al Taqqadum, Iraq with Brigade Service Support Group-15.
In October 2005, he reported to Drill Instructor School, Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, California. Upon graduation he served as a Drill Instructor with Company H, 2d Recruit Training Battalion and a Senior Drill Instructor with Company A, 1st Recruit Training Battalion. During this tour he was promoted to Staff Sergeant.
In December 2008, Staff Sergeant Troncatti reported to Engineer Company, Marine Wing Support Squadron-372, Camp Pendleton, California where he served as the Company Gunnery Sergeant. During this tour he deployed to Camp Dwyer, Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. 
In May 2011, Staff Sergeant Troncatti reported to Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps, The Pennsylvania State University, serving as the Assistant Marine Officer Instructor.  During this time has was promoted to Gunnery Sergeant and served as a Sergeant Instructor, Platoon Sergeant and Company Gunnery Sergeant at Officer Candidates School, Quantico, Virginia.
In August 2014, Gunnery Sergeant Troncatti reported to Marine Wing Support Squadron-371, Yuma, Arizona where he served as the Company First Sergeant for Company B and Headquarters and Service Company. In April 2015, he deployed to the Isa Air Base, Bahrain in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. Upon return from deployment he was selected for promotion and in February 2016, frocked to the rank of First Sergeant. 
In April 2016, he reported to 3d Battalion, 1st Marines, 1st Marine Division, for assignment as the Company First Sergeant for Company I. While assigned to Company I, he deployed in support of Unit Deployment Program 17-1, participating in the Korean Military Exchange Program. Upon return from deployment, he was reassigned in September 2017 as the First Sergeant for Headquarters and Service Company where he deployed aboard the USS ANCHORAGE for Western Pacific 18.2 (WESTPAC) with Battalion Landing Team 3/1, 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit.
In April 2019, he reported to 3d Recruit Training Battalion, Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, California and assumed duties as Company First Sergeant for Company I. In May 2020, he was frocked to his current rank and assigned as the Sergeant Major for Support Battalion.
In December 2020, he reported to Marine Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Squadron 1, Marine Air Group-13, 3d Marine Aircraft Wing and assumed the duties as the Squadron Sergeant Major. 
Sergeant Major Troncatti's personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (second award), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (third award), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (second award), and the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal.
