Executive Officer, Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 161
Major Jordan E. Manzione

Major Manzione currently serves as the Marine Medium Tiltrotor squadron 161 Executive Officer.

Jordan Manzione attended PLC/Combined in the summer of 2008 and graduated from Colorado School of Mines, in December of 2008. He was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the Marine Corps on 4 July 2009. 

Following The Basic School, 2ndLt Manzione attended Introductory Flight Screening (IFS) at Manassas Regional Airport. After IFS, 2ndLt Manzione checked into Naval Air Station Pensacola where he was then immediately sent Temporary Assignment of Duty with the 2d Marine Logistics Group aboard Camp Lejeune. 2ndLt Manzione worked as the Assistant Air Officer while he awaited Aviation Preflight Indoctrination (API). After API, 2ndLt Manzione volunteered for Primary Flight Training at Vance Air Force Base with the 33rd Flight Training Squadron. 1stLt Manzione was winged after attending Intermediate and Advanced Flight Training at Training Squadron Nine, Naval Air Station Meridian, MS on 16 November 2012.

After winging, 1stLt Manzione was transferred to Marine Fighter Attack Training Squadron 101 at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar where he was employed as a schedule writer. While in the syllabus, a non-flying injury interrupted his training. Captain Manzione was then transferred to Marine Refueling Squadron 352 where he worked as the Assistant Logistics Officer and Embark Officer. 

In October of 2015, Captain Manzione was selected to fly the MV-22B by the Deputy Commandant of Aviation. He attended Marine Medium Tiltrotor Training Squadron 204 where he was designated a Tiltrotor Second Pilot. Captain Manzione was then transferred to Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 165 where he was employed as the squadron NATOPS Officer, the Administration Officer in Charge, and the Logistics Officer in Charge from 2016 through 2020. During that time he forward deployed to Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force Crisis Response-Central Command twice. For the last five months at VMM-165, Major Manzione served as the interim Executive Officer.

For the first year after transferring to VMM-263 Major Manzione served as the Director of Safety and Standardization where he also attended Aviation Safety Officer Course. Major Manzione achieved the designation of Night Systems Instructor and qualification of Flight Lead before deploying with the 22d Marine Expeditionary Unit aboard the USS Kearsarge throughout the Baltics and high North. Major Manzione served as the Aviation Maintenance Officer prior to moving to Marine Aircraft Group 26 to fulfill the Assistant Operations Officer position.

Major Manzione's personal awards include an Air Medal with 1 strike and a Navy Commendation Medal.
