Lieutenant Colonel Michael P. Fisher

Lieutenant Colonel Michael Fisher was born in Houston, TX and graduated from Shelton High School in 1998. He attended Texas A&M University and graduated in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science in Construction Science. Afterwards, he was employed by Whiting-Turner Contracting Company and was selected for Officer Candidate Class in October 2005. He was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in December of 2005, graduating The Basic School with Company B-06 and transitioned to flight training in Pensacola, FL.

1st Lieutenant Fisher completed flight school training in Pensacola, FL, Corpus Christi, TX and earned his “Wings of Gold” in April 2009 in Kingsville, TX. After completion of Advanced Flight Training, First Lieutenant Fisher joined VFA-106 at Naval Air Station Oceana, VA for initial F/A-18 flight training.

In May 2010, Captain Fisher was assigned to the Thunderbolts of VMFA-251, at MCAS Beaufort. His billets included NATOPS Officer, Administration Officer, Schedules Officer, Pilot Training Officer, and Operations Officer. During this tour, Captain Fisher deployed aboard the USS ENTERPRISE in 2011 and 2012, supporting Operations NEW DAWN and ENDURING FREEDOM. Captain Fisher attended the TOPGUN Class 3-13 and the Weapons and Tactics Instructor Course 1-14.

In July 2014, Captain Fisher attended the Expeditionary Warfare School in Quantico, VA and graduated in May 2015. Upon completion of the Expeditionary Warfare School, he was selected as the Company Grade Fixed-Wing Monitor and remained in Quantico, VA. Major Fisher was selected for F-35C conversion training on the FY17 Transition/Conversion Board.

After concluding his duties as the Company Grade Fixed-Wing Monitor in 2017, Major Fisher conducted F-35C conversion training with VFA-101 at Eglin AFB, FL. He completed F-35C conversion training in November 2017 and joined VFA-125 at NAS Lemoore, CA.

Serving as a F-35 Fleet Replacement Squadron Instructor at VFA-125, Major Fisher served as the Strike Phase Head, Fighter Phase Head, Training Officer, Quality Assurance Officer, and Senior Marine. Major Fisher received his Master's in Business Administration in July 2018.

In May 2020, Major Fisher was assigned to the Black Knights of VMFA-314 where he served as the Operations Officer, Aircraft Maintenance Officer, and Executive Officer. Lieutenant Colonel Fisher deployed aboard the USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN, supporting multiple Theater Security Cooperation Exercises and Joint/Coalition training exercises across the Western Pacific region. He was selected for command of the Tomcats of VMFA-311 in July 2021.

Lieutenant Colonel Fisher's personal awards include the Air Medal-Strike/Flight (Second Award), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (Fourth Award), and the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (Third Award).
