Major Randy K. Brazile

Major Brazile is from Tacoma, Washington and graduated from Central Washington University prior to commissioning in 2008. Following The Basic School and flight school, he was designated a Naval Aviator in March 2012 and reported to VMAT-203 for training in the AV-8B Harrier. 

In April 2013, Captain Brazile was assigned to VMA-211 aboard MCAS Yuma where he held the positions of Daily Schedule Writer and Powerline Division Officer. In July 2014, he deployed as part of the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) on USS Makin Island as the Powerline and Airframes Division Officer and Basic Landing Signal Officer (LSO). After returning from deployment in February 2015, Captain Brazile was briefly moved to VMA-214 before again being reassigned to join VMA-311 on deployment in July 2015 with the 15th MEU on USS Essex. Both deployments were in support of contingency operations and Operation INHERENT RESOLVE. 

In October 2016, Captain Brazile reported to 3d Battalion, 5th Marines at Camp Pendleton and served as the India Company Forward Air Controller while deployed with the 31st MEU on USS Bonhomme Richard and USS Ashland. The Darkhorse battalion completed Marine Corps Warfighting Laboratory experimentation and Exercise Talisman Saber in Australia.

In December 2017, Captain Brazile reported to MCAS Beaufort and VMFAT-501 for transition to the F-35B before reporting to VMFA-122 at MCAS Yuma in October 2018. Major Brazile held the positions of Director of Safety and Standardization and Quality Assurance Officer. In October 2020, Major Brazile deployed with the 15th MEU on USS Makin Island where he served as the detachment Maintenance Officer and Training LSO in support of Operations OCTAVE QUARTZ, FREEDOM’S SENTINEL, and INHERENT RESOLVE.
On return from deployment Major Brazile was assigned to his current position in VMFA-225 as the Executive Officer and the F-35B LSO Program Manager.  
Major Brazile’s personal decorations include two Air Medals, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, and five Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals. He has accumulated over 1,100 flight hours primarily in the AV-8B and F-35B.
