The Bronze Star Medal hangs from Gunnery Sgt. Kevin Anderson, the special security communications team chief with 4th Special Security Communications Team, Marine Wing Headquarters Squadron 3 and a Puyallup, Wash., uniform after an award ceremony aboard Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, Calif., April 11. The Bronze Star Medal is awarded for acts of heroism, merit or meritorious service in a combat zone. Anderson earned the medal while deployed to Afghanistan providing intelligence to infantry Marines.
