Cpl. Mark Willoughby Jr., an air command and control electronics operator with Marine Tactical Air Command Squadron 38 and an Artesia, Calif. native puts a shovel to the dirt during a groundbreaking ceremony for the first obstacle course aboard Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, Calif. Aug. 22. During a visit, Willoughby asked the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing commanding general why the station did not have an obstacle course, resulting in the planning to build the course only days later.
