A fire burns on a “simulated crashed” aircraft during an annual aircraft mishap training exercise aboard Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, Calif., Sept. 4. This is the air station's aircraft mishap simulator used during the exercise, where Marines with Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting battled flames while paramedics from the installation and local fire stations tended to “simulated injured” bystanders.
