Sgt. Xavier Rodriguez, a crew chief with Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron (HMH) 465, Marine Aircraft Group 16, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, scans the terrain from a CH-53E Super Stallion helicopter over Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Calif., Aug. 10. During flight, crew chiefs are subject matter experts on aircraft operations and terrain features. HMH-465 conducts training with Amphibious Raids Branch, Expeditionary Operations Training Group, I Marine Expeditionary Force, to assist infantry Marines performing fast-rope training from a helicopter.
