SAN PEDRO, Calif. – Sgt. Alimamy Kamara, a heavy equipment operator with Marine Wing Support Squadron (MWSS) 373, Marine Wing Support Group (MWSG) 37, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, unloads equipment at San Pedro, Calif., Dec. 14. Marines completed the embarkation of utility and engineer assets aboard a barge headed to Catalina Island as part of the “Airport in the Sky” reconstruction project. The reconstruction of the runway serves as training methods of expeditionary concrete repair, airfield damage, mobile power generation, horizontal and vertical construction for combat engineers and heavy equipment operators.
