More than a dozen MV-22B Ospreys and CH-53E Super Stallions with Marine Aircraft Group (MAG) 16, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing (MAW), fly in close formation as they approach the flight line at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, Calif., Feb. 27, after returning from a deployment with the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit. More than 5,000 Marines and Sailors of the Essex Amphibious Readiness Group, and the embarked 13th MEU, conducted maritime security operations to support regional stability, reassure partners and allies, and maintain a presence postured to respond to any crisis ranging from humanitarian assistance to contingency operations.
