Senior leaders from I Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF), 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing (MAW), First Naval Construction Regiment (1NCR) and the Catalina Island Conservancy pose for a group photo at Catalina Island, Calif., March 1. Civic and military leaders visited Catalina Island to observe the progress made by the Marines and Seabees and thank them for their hard work. The “Airport in the Sky” project falls under the Department of Defense innovative readiness training program. 3rd MAW's partnership with the Catalina Island Conservancy is a unique opportunity for Marines to conduct applicable training while also helping the community.(U.S. Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl.
