Rudder, commander, U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Pacific, prepare for the general’s final flight at Marine Corps Air Station Camp Pendleton, California, Aug. 25, 2022. The flight marked a significant occasion for Rudder, who is retiring after 38 years of service from the world's most elite fighting force. Since 2020, Rudder has commanded two-thirds of the Marine Corps’ operating forces committed to preserving a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
