Marines prepare to lift an inert AIM-9 Sidewinder missile July 21 at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar. Being loaded onto an F/A-18D belonging to Marine All-Weather Fighter Attack Squadron 225, Marine Aircraft Group 11, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, the Sidewinder is one of the oldest, least expensive and most successful missiles in the entire U.S. weapons inventory.
