Atop a high, farm field dike, a Marine with 1st Platoon, Company B, 1st Battalion, 23rd Marine Regiment, marches past local Iraqi civilians during a security patrol around Ramadi, Iraq, Dec. 27. In the tradition of their Vietnam predecessors, today?s Marine infantry in Iraq are reinforcing a good relationship between government and local civilians with patrols on the front lines of an insurgency prior to elections January 30.
