Sgt. Aaron M. Hefner works on an AH-1W Super Cobra in the setting sun of a warm desert evening April 24 at Al Asad, Iraq. Hefner, a native of Oceanside, Calif., is an aircraft communications/navigation/electrical/weapon systems technician with Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 269. While deployed, the squadron operates under Marine Aircraft Group 16 (Reinforced), 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing. Known as the Gunrunners, their mission here is to provide constant on-call close air support.
