Lance Cpl. Zachary Couch (left), 19-year-old scout observer from Poughkeepsie, N.Y., and Cpl. Jeffrey Hazard (right) a 23-year-old artilleryman from Pittsburgh, keep an eye on a polling site near the border of Saudi Arabia and Iraq during the Jan. 30 national elections. Both Marines, with Battery K, 3rd Battalion, 12th Marine Regiment held outer perimeter security for the elections here, as a back up in case of emergency while the elections were run by Iraqi election officials. The site was located along the border and allowed pilgrims returning from Mecca on the Hajj to vote.
