Cpl. Erich J. Kenning, aircraft mechanic and plane captain, Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 323, Marine Aircraft group 11, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, gives the sign that the plane is good to go after the preflight inspection. Plane captains act as the pilot?s eyes on the ground and are responsible for the integrity of the aircraft as well as the pilot?s safety.
