A row of CH-53D Sea Stallions sit on the flight line at Al Asad, Iraq, Sept. 26. Since the aircraft were brought into action during Vietnam in the late 1960s, they have transitioned between several CH-53D squadrons throughout the Marine Corps. However, most of the aircraft have managed to stay within Marine Aircraft Group 24 -- their parent MAG while in a non-deployed status.
