A Falconer?s hood provides comfort and helps to calm the raptor down when not active. The hood gives the hawk the impression of night. Since the bird is a day hunter, they become less active at night because of the darkness. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl. Christopher O'Quin) (Released)
