Engineers with Marine Wing Support Squadron 273 prepare to spread approximately 15,000 cubic meters of rock and gravel to make a safer helicopter landing zone (HLZ) in southwestern Afghanistan May 4. The new HLZ is designed to prevent dangerous "brownouts" - the choking dust clouds generated by helicopters as they land and take off.
