A combat engineer with Marine Wing Support Squadron 273 uses a Tractor, Rubber-tired, Articulated Steering, Multipurpose vehicle (TRAM) to lay rock that will make up a new helicopter landing zone in southwestern Afghanistan, May 4. The heavy gravel helps prevent dangerous "brownouts," the clouds of blinding dust generated when helicopters land and take off.
