A Sailor assigned to 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing was injured at Marine Corps Air Station Camp Pendleton and transported to a local hospital, Wed., Feb. 21.

At approximately 6:10 p.m. on Feb. 21, the Sailor was struck by a spinning UH-1Y Venom tail rotor blade while the aircraft was on deck.

The Sailor is currently in critical condition.

An investigation has been initiated and no additional details are available at this time.
