MARINE CORPS AIR STATION MIRAMAR, Calif. -- Lt. Col. Todd M. Jenkins, the commanding officer of Marine Wing Support Squadron 373, relinquished his command to Lt. Col. Thomas M. Fahy during a change of command ceremony aboard Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, July 24.
Fahy earned his commission through the Platoon Leaders Class in 1992, and after completing The Basic School, began his career with Brigade Service Support Group 1 where he served as an engineer platoon commander.
His personal military decorations include a Bronze Star, a Meritorious Service Medal, a Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with two Gold Stars in lieu of third award, a Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal and a Marine Corps Recruiting Ribbon.
Jenkins enlisted in the Navy, Oct. 18, 1982. He served more than three years on the USS Carl Vinson (CVN-70) before The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, selected him for a Marine option Navy Reserve Officers Training Corps scholarship. Jenkins was commissioned a second lieutenant in May 1991. He attended the Marine Corps Engineer School at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, N.C., after completing The Basic School.
Jenkins’ personal awards include a Bronze Star, a Joint Meritorious Service Medal, a Meritorious Service Medal with two gold stars in lieu of third award, a Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, a Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal and a Combat Action Ribbon with one gold star in lieu of second award.
Jenkins will retire to Blacklick, Ohio, with his wife and children.
