Major Aron D. Sullivan was born in Fort Worth, Texas. In 2007 he graduated from Drake University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Corporate Finance. In October 2009 he attended Officer Candidate School. In December 2009 he commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps and reported to The Basic School. Upon completion of The Basic School in 2010 he reported to Flight School in Pensacola, Florida. First Lieutenant Sullivan was designated a Naval Aviator in August 2012.

Gunnery Sergeant Norman enlisted in the Marine Corps April 7, 2008, and attended Recruit Training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Paris Island, South Carolina. Upon graduation, Private First Class Norman attended Marine Combat Training aboard Camp Geiger, North Carolina. In August of 2008, Private First Class Norman reported to Naval Air Technical Training Center Pensacola, Florida for the Aviation Ordnance Technician Organizational Level Course, where he received the MOS of 6531. In October he attended the Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training Marine Unit, Camp Pendleton California, where he was selected as the honor graduate and subsequently meritoriously promoted to the rank of Lance Corporal.
